Whatcha doin 20th anniversary remix redux album by the go out on third man records in 2019. The go was established in detroit in 1996 by bobby harlow john krautner and marc fellis. Their first album whatcha doin featured dave buick on bass and jack white on guitar. Mentored by los angeles producer kim fowley the band signed a record deal with sub pop in 1998.

Tracks e and f are previously unreleased studio outtakes from the whatcha doin session. Lp2 ferdinand attic demos recorded in the attic of jack s childhood home on ferdinand st. In sw detroit winter 1999 a few days before the go entered the studio to record the whatcha doin lp. The production courtesy of outrageous cherry s matthew smith is as raunchy and retro as the band s old school rave ups and definitely highlights the vocals and buzzing guitars over the simple sloppy rhythm section.

The go s second last and self titled album is easier on the ear and i highly recommend it. However while the music rocks the production on this album is lacking in places the drums are almost non existent.
